Verbs of God with Margaret Feinberg
Where is God when I need Him?
When we look around at the pain, loss and hurt in our world and even in our own lives, we can’t help but wonder, “God, don’t you see this? Can’t you do something about this? Where are you?”
In these four sessions, Margaret Feinberg uses fresh insights and Biblical teaching to study four verbs that Scripture uses in connection with God. When we understand God’s active nature, we realize how God is always active and engaged in our lives. Even when we can’t see or feel him, God is constantly on the move and working.
Four video-driven sessions:
- Session 1 – The Great I AM (15 min.)
- Session 2 – The God Who Sees (12 min.)
- Session 3 – The God Who Listens (14 min.)
- Session 4 – The God Who Calls (14 min.)
The Divine Element – It is as obvious and essential as the air we breathe. It holds together all that is and all that will be. It bonds with despair to create comfort. It is the one element before time from which all other elements arise. It is the holy, the sacred, and our Creator who is the Divine element.
Hard to Live by Faith – Today many people are stressed due to finances, illness or relationships. We struggle to make sense of our pain. This poignant illustration follows a young mother’s honest, yet grateful prayer and encourages us to focus on God’s provision.
Where is God? – It is easy to see God’s hand in the splendor of a sunset or the glory of a mountaintop. But we wonder where God is when we are in our most difficult times. This uplifting video clip illustrates how God is with us when and where we need Him most.
Are You Listening? – From the moment we arise, we are bombarded with noise. The television blares, sirens wail, children chatter, there’s constant commotion at work. And we wonder why we don’t hear from God. This probing illustration suggests the need to be still to hear God’s call.

Lenten Dinner & Bible Study
Join Us for Dinner and Worship
Wednesday evenings during Lent, we will gather in Founders’ Hall from 6-8 pm for an informal catered dinner and then remain at our tables for a worship service. Our Lenten services will focus on “5 Things God Uses to Grow Our Faith.” Nursery for infants through age 4 will be provided upon request during the worship services. Please contact Barbara Ticich at 985.856.3825 if you will require this service. The Children’s Ministry will provide the Kids for Christ (KFC) program during the worship services as well for children ages 5-11. Youth are encouraged to attend the Lenten Dinners & Worship.
If you plan to attend any of the dinners, you must purchase a ticket no later than the Sunday prior to the dinner. This is necessary so that we can provide our caterer with a head count in advance. Tickets can be purchased in the Narthex following the Sunday worship services, or call Marion at the church office 727.372.7203. Tickets will be sold at the door for future dinners only. Dinner ticket prices are $8 for adults (ages 12+), or $4 for children (ages 5-11). There will be a $25 maximum cost per family (parents and children only, please). In order to keep the prices as low as possible, we are asking for participants to consider donating a dessert. Don’t let the cost of the meal keep you away. If you have a concern, please speak with Pastor Philip. If you or your kids don’t care for the dinner being provided, feel free to bring your own meal, or you can choose to come just for the Worship at 6:45 PM.
Dinner Menu:- February 29—Chicken Marsala

Partners in Ministry...
As part of our continued partnership with our “friends up the road,” we are inviting the members of First Presbyterian Church in Port Richey to participate in all of our Lenten activities here at TPCoSS. We especially invite them to attend our Maundy Thursday service, which will be held on April 5th at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary. Communion will be served at this service. In turn, on April 6th, Good Friday, the people of TPCoSS will travel to First Presbyterian Church for a worship service in their sanctuary at 12:00 PM. Childcare will be provided at either service upon request. Special music at both services will be provided through the combined ministries of our TPCoSS Chancel Choir and the adult choir from First Presbyterian Church.
