This month's presentation:
Have you ever considered foster parenting?
There are incredible joys that come from being a foster parent. Opening your home to children caught up in family turmoil beyond their control is an act of love and caring. Providing stability, guidance and nurturing to these children when their lives have been turned upside down is an often challenging but profoundly rewarding act.
Join us for breakfast and a presentation by our own Carl and Jan McCullough on the great joys of foster parenting as well as the issues surrounding becoming a licensed foster care provider. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn about foster parenting, the needs of our local community, and get interesting first hand insight.
Since we need to know how much breakfast to prepare, please register in the Men’s notebook in the narthex or call Max Bolander at 849-5894.

Looking for a Few Good Shepherds...
We are rapidly approaching a new school year. As I plan the new curriculum and prepare for an exciting start, I face the task with growing enthusiasm. The curriculum, “Seasons of the Spirit,” is dynamic and exciting. The curriculum reaches beyond “just teaching bible stories.” It provides the means to demonstrate the scriptural relevance of these stories to the lives of our children. Even more importantly, it provides opportunities for our children to put their faith into action.
The success of this ministry will depend greatly upon the commitment of our congregation. The calling to a ministry of teaching is one of the most powerful and vital roles an individual can answer in the life of a church. Sunday school is the foundational component of the church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for developing the spiritual maturity of our children and families through biblical studies that engage them in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.
As a community of faith, our commitment to Christian education is pledged with our affirmation to nurture and teach children baptized into the faith. We are presented, as a congregation, with a question of deep and profound commitment, as well as a tremendous responsibility.
The question is: Do you, as members of the church of Jesus Christ, promise to guide, nurture and protect this child, by word and deed, with love and prayer, encouraging them to know and follow Jesus Christ?
This question to the congregation is asking each and every one of us to come together to be an intentional community that becomes enmeshed in the life of children and their families guiding nurturing and protecting by our words and our deeds being led by the man who said, “Let the children come unto me.”
We are saying that these children matter and that they are an important part of our spiritual family. We are promising to acts as shepherds to a flock of God’s most precious. We are responding to the question that Peter is asked by Christ at the end of the gospel of John.
Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?
Yes, Lord; you know I love you.
Feed my lambs.
Simon son of John, do you love me?
Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
Tend my sheep.
Simon son of John, do you love me?
Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.
Feed my sheep.1
I ask you to seriously consider the talents that God has given to you. In what ways might you put those gifts to work in strengthening our congregational commitment to our children to raise them in a manner that brings them into a spiritually meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ? Prayerfully consider the gift of teaching. Recognize that the maturity of your faith is strengthened by the experience of sharing the joy you have found in Christ our Savior and opening that experience to our children.
As we prepare for the new school year, my prayers are with each of you as you consider this message. I pray that God grant you discernment to recognize His calling, and that you are afforded an opportunity to find a manner in which you may serve our congregation’s educational ministries joyfully and utilizes your talents to His greater glory.
To learn more about the many ways in which you may actively serve in our children’s educational ministries please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours in Christ,
Jeremy Marzicola

I'd Like to Learn More
The Way is now The Connection
For years, we have published a monthly newsletter entitled, "The Way." As our congregation has grown, we've found it more effective to communicate the happenings at TPCoSS on a weekly basis. Since our ministry is relational and interconnected, we felt it was time to give the newsletter a name that reflects our desire to connect you to the life of the church. It is now called, "The Connection."Read "The Connection" to learn about more opportunities to connect with others at TPCoSS.
